Mapei ECO Prim Grip™ is a ready-to-use, low-VOC, synthetic-resin primer with bond-promoting silica aggregates. It improves adhesion of mortars to existing ceramic tile and other difficult substrates, and improves the bond of self-leveling underlayments and render coats over cement-based substrates.
It is a single-coat gray primer applied with a 3/8" nap roller or brush, with no shotblasting or abrading needed. A self-leveler can typically go on 2 to 5 hours after priming.
